She turned her heathen son Augustine into a saint. Literally.
Hi, my name is Kristen. I am a thirty-something mother of 3 (so far), Shelby Clare, Joseph Patrick and William Christopher. They are all well-behaved clean children who pose readily for pictures, always behave during mass, and never-ever fight. Of course, they are, aren’t yours?
Shelby is my sweet girl. She was diagnosed at age two on the Autism Spectrum and has taught me so much about love, life and how a little perspective goes a long way. Joseph “Joey”, my big boy, has his daddy’s blue eyes and is “the informant child.” William “Will” is our baby for the time being. He is a bundle of energy that keeps up with his older brother. All 3 of my kids hate macaroni and cheese (I’m not sure if they are really mine), love Disney Pixar films and have a biting stage (Will is in his now). They are my most precious gifts from heaven and I thank God for them every day and welcome all additional blessings He is willing to send my way.
My husband Jeff is a rugged, outdoorsy type who can fix anything and lift a car over his head. Well, the rugged and outdoorsy part is right. He also is a pretty nifty fixer-upper. He is an ex-chef and elementary school teacher. He is also a master gardener of flowers, plants and veggies.
I am a Martha Stewart type—oh let me stop. I can’t cook well (why I married an ex-chef). I am a terrible housekeeper (why I married a man who can clean). I love to sleep. I have always been a reader and writer. I have been blessed beyond measure with a husband who loves me and children who adore me and I cannot understand why. I am a devoted Catholic and crunchy Conservative. I hate collared greens. I refuse to believe that any person is not deserving of love because I believe that God loves us all regardless and He never turns His back on us, no matter how often we turn from Him.
I live by this:
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
~ Jeremiah 29:11
He has shown you, O people, what is good and what the Lord requires of you. But to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God.
