Small Successes

FaithButton

Joining Sherry at Chocolate for Your Brain to share small and mighty successes!

1. We got Shelby to skate on Sunday! And while it started out rough, she loved it!

2. I survived Shelby’s IEP with all three kids in tow minus the husband. And we got everything added in that we wanted plus the school threw in more! Yeah!

3. I got Shelby to an “interview” for summer camp. A local autism group offers half day summer camp for kids with autism and they interview candidates to best fit their needs! Yeah!

4. I’ve got my boys on a fairly consistent cleaning schedule in regards to picking up their toys.

5. I wrote a blog post on Shelby’s experience at A.skate and sent it to the organization.

A Thankful Woman’s Book of Blessings

Joining Judy for more gratitude.

1. For the wonderful people behind A.skate. Shelby had an amazing time at their clinic! You can see her skating in this clip.

2. For our awesome IEP team that came up with some great goals and ideas for Shelby.

3. For how unexpectedly helpful my boys have become.

4. For a very sweet friend who surprised me with a gift today!

5. For the money that keeps appearing in my pocketbook…it’s not a lot but it’s always a pleasant surprise.

Lovin’ My Husband

Joining Judy to share some love for our husbands this morning.

1. Lovin’ my husband because he went to lunch with Shelby yesterday. He took the day off because I was supposed to have jury duty (I got excused at the end of the week last week) and took advantage of the rare chance. He brought Joey along and they had fun.

2. Lovin’ my husband because he totally jumped in the pit with me on Sunday at the Skate Barn to get Shelby on that skateboard. And she loved it.

3. Lovin’ my husband because makes awesome bruschetta.

Questions from Chelsea

1. Would you rather give up pedicures or flat/curling irons?
I’ve never had a pedicure so I’d give it up in a second. I also have super sensitive feet and super frizzy hair, so yeah, bye-bye pedicure.

2. Does your middle name have a family meaning?
Sort of?! It’s Michel which is the French form of Michael which is my dad’s name.

3. Do you like to sneeze?
Not really. Never thought about it.

4. Do you think kids should need to learn cursive?
Yes, because servers do go down and it’s faster than printing.

5. When you go to the beach for the day, what do you take?
towel, sunblock, hat, chair, sunglasses, water, camera

6. Which decade had the best music?
Wow, um the early 90’s followed by the 80’s.

7. Are you a good hand-shaker?
I guess.

8. Do you have a go-to meal for when you are at a restaurant and you can’t decide?
Almost all Italian restaurants have Eggplant Parm

Almost all Chinese have sweet and sour chicken

Almost all Mexican have a choice of three and I choose chicken on enchiladas, tamales and tostadas

9. Do you have slippers?
Yes but I don’ t know where they are

10. Are you easily grossed out?
I’m not fond of bodily fluids, but I can deal with them. But stitches/staples in skin really gross me out and so does anything with teeth. Our current adventure of baby teeth to permanent teeth is not as fun as one would think.
