Liebster Award

Katherine at Having Left the Altar gave me this award (and yes, blog awards STILL make me giddy!) If you are still not familiar with Katherine’s blog, she is a homeschooling mother of four beautiful little girls who, along with her husband James, have made a wonderful domestic church and shares not only stories of her family but of faith as well. Recently her post Identity made a passionate argument in defense of Catholics standing up for themselves and what they believe in.

Liebster is a German word which means “dearest” or “beloved”.  It can also mean favorite.  The idea behind the Liebster Blog Award is that it is given to upcoming bloggers (with fewer than 200 followers) in order to create new connections and bring attention to wonderful growing blogs.
Now it is my turn to pass on the award, with these simple rules:
·          Add the award to your blog.
·         Thank the giver with a link back to them.
·         List your top five picks and let them know they’ve been given the award by
leaving a comment on their blog.
·         Encourage your followers to “spread the love” to the blogs that you’ve spotlighted.
It isn’t easy to pick 5 ladies to give this award to, but please enjoy visiting these wonderful blogs:
1) ViolinMama at A Rosey Outlook on Life. Violinmama is the mother of two sweet girls and a very huggable little guy. She blogs about faith and family but most recently marriage. She has been candid about recent stresses in her marriage and how she and her husband are coping and continuing. Her honesty, even in painful times, has been a wonderful act of trust and faith. And it is very inspiring.
2) Elisa at Elisa Loves. Elisa is an army wife with three rambunctious, growing boys. Swiss by birth, Elisa has often shared her homeland via her blog via pictures, food and traditions. She has great recipes both for food and DIY home items (we use her recipe for homemade dishwasher detergent and for pierogies with onions and sausage). She also shares faith and military life in her wonderful blog.
3) Munchesmom at Four Blessings Academy. Munchesmom has three boys and a girl in her family. She graciously shares them with readers along with recipes and even guides to the new translation of the mass! Reading all her posts are like a breath of fresh air in the blogging day!
4) Sonya at Glam-O-Mommy. Sonya blogs about her adventures of raising her daughter Sophie and aspiring to have some glamour in her life even as unglamourous as some mommy moments can be. I find the glamour of her blog to be inspiring because being a mom is still first, but she recognizes the importance of mom feeling good about herself too.
5) Maurisa at Half a Dozen and More Productions. Maurisa blogs about her growing family, faith, pop culture (we are both not-so-secretive lovers of The Office) and most recently a move from Maryland across the country to Utah where her husband has his first post-USAF job. She has chronicled her family’s recent search for a suitable parish in their new home.
Honorable mention:
Cam at A Woman’s Place…Depends on her Vocation. Cam has 279 followers which is why I give her an honorable mention, but I think she needs quite a few more! Cam blogs about her home life with her husband and two little girls, Sadie and Mae. She is an outspoken pro-life and pro-family advocate and she mananges eloquence and civility on tenuous topics.

  1. Found you through Having Left the Altar! 🙂

What a great blog you’ve got going for yourself. I love the “themes” you use (Blessings, Successes, Loving). I think that’s brilliant! You’ve obviously got a great sense of humor and quite a wonderful outlook. 🙂 Kudos to you. Well-deserved, and glad to have found a new blog to enjoy!

  2. Thank you! I’m honored that you tagged me! What a sweet description of my blog, too! I will try to get mine posted in the next couple of days.
