Seven Quick Tunes Friday

It Came Upon a Midnight Clear

That glorious Song of old

Of Angels bending near the Earth

To touch their harps of Gold

— 2 —

God Rest You Merry Gentlemen

Let nothing you dismay

Remember Christ our Savior was born on Christmas Day

To Save Us All From Satan’s Power When We Were Gone Astray

O Tidings of Comfort and Joy, Comfort and Joy

O Tidings of Comfort and Joy

— 3 —

He rules the world

With truth and strength

And makes the Nations prove

The glories of

His righteousness

And wonders of His Love

And wonders of His Love

And wonders

And wonders of His Love

Whom shepherds guard and angels sing

HASTE, HASTE to bring him laud

The babe, the son of Mary

It's Christmas time in Hollis Queens
Mom's cooking chicken and collard greens
Rice and stuffing, macaroni and cheese
And Santa put gifts under Christmas trees
Decorate the house with lights at night
Snow's on the ground, snow white so bright
In the fireplace is the yule log
Beneath the mistle toe as we drink egg nog
The rhymes you hear are the rhymes of Darryl's
But each and every year we bust Chrsitmas carols

— 6 —

But say a prayer – pray for the other ones
At Christmas time

it’s hard, but when you’re having fun
There’s a world outside your window

And it’s a world of dreaded fear
Where the only water flowing is a bitter sting of tears
And the christmas bells that ring there are the clanging chimes of doom

Well tonight thank God it’s them instead of you

And there won’t be snow in Africa this christmas time
The greatest gift they’ll get this year is life

Where nothing ever grows
No rain or rivers flow

Do they know it’s Christmas time at all?

Love and Joy come to you

And a Merry Christmas too

And God Bless You and Send You a Happy New Year

And God Send You a Happy New Year

  1. Number five made me chuckle. That’s my husband’s favorite “Christmas” song. I never even heard it until about 2008.
